Den Weihnachtsmorgen haben wir nach guter amerikanischer Tradition mit gefüllten Socken, Geschenken und Weihnachtsliedern gemütlich im Schlafanzug gestaltet und unseren Weihnachtsbaum genossen.
We celebrated Christmas morning American style, opening stocking gifts in our pajamas while listening to Christmas music, followed by a breakfast of croissants (okay, so that's not so American).

Joshua had been waiting several days for Santa Claus to come and was very excited to see what he had brought. . .

Am Weihnachts-Nachmittag sind wir dann abgereist nach Oberkollbach, um die Tage mit Grosseltern, Onkels & Tanten zu verbringen.
Bis auf Tine & Steve waren alle gekommmen, Toby & Frieda aus Hamburg und Daniel & Steffi aus Zürich.
We traveled on Christmas afternoon to Andy's parents' in the Black Forest, and spent the following days with Joshua and Henry's Oma and Opa, Uncle Daniel and (soon-to-be) Aunt Steffi from Zurich, and Uncle Toby and Aunt Frieda from Hamburg.
Henry geniesst sein erstes Weihnachten mit Klavierspielen und Geschenken unterm Baum...
Henry had a great first Christmas, playing his first Christmas carols and opening his first presents (he really loved the paper!).
Ausserdem gab es jeden Menge Schnee draussen, sodass wir (und vor allem Joshua) oft draussen spielen konnten. Wir haben einen grossen Schneemann, ein Iglu und eine Schneerutsche gebaut; Joshua war begeistert!
Christmas Day also brought several more inches of snow to southern Germany, and we all got out to play (and the adults to cross-country ski) in the days following Christmas. Joshua and his dad made a fantastic snowman and an igloo, and with Mommy he made snow angels and built slides in the snowplowed "mountains". You could say we all had a (snow) ball!
