We decided to do our day trip to the Bavarian Alps by train, and enjoyed not having to navigate! Our destination was a lake called the Tegernsee, which is surrounded by beautiful mountain views.
Shortly after beginning our loop hike we already had a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Each time we go hiking in the Alps, we enjoy a pleasant sense of remoteness as we get further and further away from civilization and everything that's familiar, and at the same time, we begin to breathe more deeply, to stretch out, to feel taller. Simultaneously, one has a very clear sense of how small he is compared to the grandeur of these incredible mountains and the God who created them.
Further along the trail, we encountered some leftover snow, and the temperatures got a bit nippy!
We enjoyed a snack and a rest at the summit (marked by a cross) and Joshua happily left his backpack seat for some free roaming. I guess that makes him a "free-range" baby!
