Getting caught up -- July Overview

Looking back at our last entries we realize it looks like all we've been doing is taking pictures of Joshua for the last 3 months! In fact, we've just been so busy we haven't had the energy to write about more than just the most important guy in our lives! Sorry about this -- we are determined to get you caught up now that we've just gotten back from a refreshing vacation.

July was a busy month for us with Andy working hard at MAN and Emily teaching 12 hours a week at the Munich Music School. Emily and Joshua also had their first sick experience together- a day with fever and exhaustion in bed. On the more fun side of things, Emily, Andy and Joshua enjoyed our annual church picnic in the Westpark. July also saw the end of Emily's second semester of Italian classes (actually, Joshua went along for the Friday morning class, so he could tell you a thing or two about the language as well!). On July 16th Andy's dad, Sieghard, turned 60, and the following weekend we celebrated with about 40 friends and relatives (see previous entry). A few days later back in Munich, we had a wonderful visit from Christine and Steve, Andy's sister and brother-in-law from Vancouver Island, Canada. Emily also enjoyed getting back into some violin and viola playing (2 concerts) and rehearsing with her piano quartet in June and July.

A walk with Tine and Steve at Lake Starnberg. They enjoyed practicing their role as aunt and uncle! After a few hours in Starnberg, we visited the monastary/brewery at Cloister Andechs.

Friends Lauren Bolton, Tamra Call, Lorraine Buglione and Robin Henderson at the Munich International Community Church picnic.
